EuroPro Tour at Frilford Heath this week and just down the road from me about 5 miles outside of Oxford
Played this course so many times now as they host EuroPro as well as the main European Tour Q schools
A real mixed bag but a great start for the week.
I started on the back nine and although I did make bogies on the 11th, 16th and 18th after reaching the tough par 5 15th in two shots, I holed an absolute monster of a putt to record yet another Eagle! my 5th of the season.
Onto the front nine (my back) and a bogey on the 2nd hole was quickly forgotten as I made a birdie on the 3rd, followed by another on the 5th another on the 6th before another EAGLE! the second in the round and put my back nine at -4 under par and a first day of -3 69
On to day two and in great shape to make the third day – a steady front nine of two birdies, two bogeys and five pars and I was round in level par.
Back nine was equally steady with one birdie to one bogey and the day was done at level par -3 for the tournament and safely through to the third day.
After two great days of golf the third day was a real let down, I couldn’t get anything going on the greens and missed a few up and down chances.
I did however finish the day with superb back to back birdies to shoot a +7 79 and finished the tournament at +4
A tough day, but got into day 3 and made the pay day – next week onto Hill Valley in Shropshire
Thank you all
