EuroPro Tour this week at Mannings Heath Golf Club this week, which is a lovely course down in the South of England
Played here last year in a rain interrupted tournament, but fingers crossed the weather looked good for this years competition
Round 1
Playing the back nine first for me and not the best of starts as I made a bogey on my very first hole. Got one back on 13 and another EAGLE! (hole 17) I should have been a lot lower. An unfortunate bogey on 14 before a double on 18th brought me round the first nine holes in +1 over par
Onto the back nine and what a different story – birdies made on the 3rd,4th,7th and 8th – one blemish on the 6th with a bogey, but that put at -3 back nine and now -2 heading into the second day.
Round 2
Another great start as I made birdie on very first hole – back to back bogeys on 5th and 6th halted me a bit, but I bounced straight back with another birdie on the 7th.
A bogey on the 9th followed by one on the 11th and then 8 straight pars for a day total of 74 +2 over par.
With yesterdays -2 this left me at level par for the tournament and again agonizing so close to the third day, but unfortunately another missed cut
Off to Frilford Heath next, full of confidence the game is in a really good place, just need to trim off a couple of shots and make those final days
